pLEASE Help Our Cause

 With a grant from the Community Foundation of the Alleghenies to support our Academy Playground Project we have installed  barricade fencing to improve safety of the perimeter of parking lot during our summer program hours. We are seeking funding to add a 35ft. x 20ft. rubber footing area where our portable basketball hoops and playground equipment can be utilized on a playing surface that reduces the chance of injury. The rubber surface will also allow us to expand our outdoor activities to include volleyball and other fun games and activities.

Our programs, staff, and daily operations are made possible with grant funding and donations from our community.  Proceeds from The Johnstown Juneteenth Music Celebration benefit FCYFA.  This year  you can donate to be a  " Youth Academy Sponsor" and get sponsor recognition on our FCYFA Sponsor banner at the event and displayed at the youth academy.  

Our education program includes early learning fundamentals, summer Lego robotics, after-school homework assistance, virtual learning, basic music theory, basic coding and tutor/mentoring staff.  Funding is needed for additional staffing during the summer program and school year, additional educational resources and for public health & safety supplies.

Gaming systems and home video games are popular forms of entertainment . We have designated an area in the Academy Recreation Room with five Nintendo Switch game consoles and two Sony WII consoles for kids to enjoy. We also have painting and other creative activities. Funding is needed for supplies, storage bins and to expand our games, add consoles, monitors and  large screen smart TV's.

Smooth Sound Band is a FCYFA musical partner and performs  at events they organized to raise funds for our musical arts program.  With grant funding from the Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance our musical arts program has added drums, base guitar, electric guitar, keyboard to instruments that students have an opportunity to learn in our Basic Music Theory course. Funding is needed for music teachers, sheet music, music supplies and sound equipment. 

FCYFA has exercise equipment designed for youth age users thanks to a grant from The Ronald McDonald House. The Academy Fitness program seeks funding to purchase new pairs of boxing gloves. chest protection and head protection gear. for youth roller skating, Indoor game balls and storage bins, 

The Flood City Youth Fitness Academy is seeking capital funding for a new roof, air ventilation system, and building upgrades..
